On 12 December 2008, CPI Xinjiang Energy Company Limited was unveiled and 2×300MW Phase I of its Wusu Co-generation Power Plant was founded.
With a registered capital of 1 billion RMB, CPI Xinjinag Company Limited will be engaged in such businesses as electricity and heat production and sale, coal mining, coal chemistry and metal smeltery.
As CPI’s first power project in Xinjiang, Wusu Co-generation Power Plant will install 4×300MW coal-fired sub-critical air-cooling units with a total investment of 2.6 billion RMB. The first two units will be commissioned before June 2011. After completion, the power plant will play an important role in resolving power shortage in North Xinjiang and stabilizing regional grid operation.
