On 12 May 2008, the inauguration ceremony of Phase I of Pingdingshan No. 2 Power Plant was held at the construction site in Henan Province. The project will install 2×1000MW ultra supercritical coal-fired units, which will improve resource utilization, reduce pollutant emission and help protect the environment.
