Chifeng-Jinzhou Railway Project Ratified by NDRC

On 21 March 2008, Chifeng-Jinzhou Railway Project implemented by CPI was ratified by National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC).

Chifeng-Jinzhou Railway originating in Damutougou Station on the Chifeng-Daban-Baiyinhua railway line will pass through cities of Chifeng, Chaoyang and Huludao to West Jinzhou Port Station with the main line totaling 282km long. The total investment in the Project amounts to 7.185 billion RMB, out of which 52%, 16%, 16%, 16% are contributed respectively by Baiyinhua Coal Power Co., Ltd., Datang International Power Generation Co.,Ltd., China Guodian Corporation and China Resources Power Holdings Company Limited. The Project will be completed within 36 months.

Chifeng-Jinzhou Railway will be mainly used to transport coal produced from Baiyinhua and its surrounding coalmines in Xilinguole of Inner Mongolia to West Liaoning area and Jinzhou Port. Its completion will boost coal-mining development in East Inner Mongolia, rejuvenate the old industrial bases in Northeast China and improve the railway network of East Inner Mongolia and West Liaoning area.

The ratification of the Project will further improve CPI’s East Inner Mongolia strategy for vertical integration of “coal-power-chemistry-aluminum-railway-port”, strengthen CPI’s resources control and profitability and lay a solid foundation for CPI’s successful fulfillment of its three-step development goal.
