On 2 January 2008, CPI signed Framework Agreement on Cooperation with Jiangxi Provincial Government, which marks the unveiling of Jiangxi Nuclear Power Co., Ltd. The readjustment of energy structure, commitment to energy saving and reduction of pollutants emission in Jiangxi Province entail the establishment of the nuclear power company.
